Richard Pierce has taken over as CEO of the Victor Medical Centre and Port Elliot Medical Clinic and he has immediately enjoyed meeting and working with the team at the centres and immersed himself into the local community.
Richard moved to Victor Harbor in 2014 and lives at McCracken and he is excited at the opportunity to work in the community.
“The position of CEO at the Victor Medical Centre is a great opportunity for me to use my management skills to assist the doctors and staff in providing a high quality health service to the community,” Richard said.
“I work closely with the doctors in setting our strategic goals, ensuring we have the best staff, equipment and facilities to provide the best possible service.
“I enjoy the challenge of being an independent business manager and having significant input in the running of the practice.
“I am more than happy to accept any feedback from the community on our services with the aim of continuously improving them.”
Richard believes it is a challenging time in the health care industry, but will continue to strive to serve the community of Victor Harbor.
Living at McCracken it was a sure thing for Richard to join the McCracken Golf Club.
“I enjoy my golf and the people at McCracken have been most welcoming.
“I am also looking forward to playing night owls bowls over summer. “There is nothing more relaxing than fishing and I often take the boat out with my two sons, who have finished school and are now working and studying.”
Richard was born in Adelaide and attended Rostrevor College before going to Adelaide University to gain a degree in Science.
He worked as scientist in pathology laboratories in Adelaide: Dr Hamras, Dubbo: Orana District Hospital, Melbourne: Peninsula Pathology, Adelaide: Clinpath laboratories and Adelaide: Gribbles Pathology, which became Healthscope Pathology.
Richard worked there for 19 years until late 2013.
