At VMC, our priority has always been the quality and continuity of care we provide to the patients and families who trust us with their health. Our community is growing significantly, and while we’re proud to be a practice so many people want to call their medical home, that growth means we now need to pause new patient enrolments so we can continue giving our existing patients the time, attention, and continuity of care they deserve.
What is changing?
From today, VMC is not accepting new patient enrolments, and we will review this policy again in March 2027. The only exception to this policy is pregnant patients and their newborns.
This change applies only to Victor Medical Centre on Torrens St. The Urgent Care Clinic on Ocean St remains open from 8am to 6pm, 7 days a week, and continues to see all patients who meet its usual eligibility criteria.
Are you an existing patient?
If you already have a patient file with us, you’re welcome to continue booking appointments as usual — this change only affects new patient registrations.
What other measures is VMC taking?
We are currently investigating ways to free up more short-notice appointment slots for our existing patients. We’re also kicking off a GP recruiting initiative later this year to bring more consulting GPs to VMC and the area.
This enrolment pause allows us to keep delivering the standard of care our patients have come to expect. Thank you for your understanding.
