New Patients

Depending on doctor availability we will accept patients who are new to the area. We do appreciate a health summary from the previous clinic at the first appointment. New patients also will need to fill in a health related questionnaire and will be asked to check in 15 minutes prior to their appointment. The first visit requires a 30 minute appointment. Please contact our friendly reception staff for more information. These appointments are unable to be booked online.

This cornerstone of General Practice is what we pride ourselves on. Our doctors will oversee your healthcare with input from other Specialty and Allied Health services with a holistic approach. A GP Chronic Care Management Plans may be offered or recommended by your doctor or carried out by a nurse which will assist in setting goals and adequately informing your medical treatment.

Home Medication Reviews

In partnership with your Pharmacist a home medication review is used to streamline your pharmacological management. This is recommended for people who are taking 5 or more medications or a medication that requires monitoring such as warfarin or lithium.

Immunisations

We conduct vaccinations for the childhood immunisation program and additional immunisations including influenza, Covid-19, shingles and pneumococcal that form the National immunisation Program.

Obstetrics Care

GP Obstetricians provide comprehensive including preconception, antenatal pregnancy care at Victor Medical Centre for people from the Fleurieu Peninsula and surrounding areas. Our Practitioners also provide birth services of appropriate pregnancies at Southern Fleurieu Health Service. Postnatal and infant care, including immunisations, is provided at Victor Medical Centre in partnership with Southern Fleurieu Health Service Maternity Staff and the Goolwa Child and Adolescent Family Health Service. Postnatal and breastfeeding support service offered with combined midwifery and GP obstetrician review.

Skin Cancer

Victor Medical Centre offers professional skin health services, including routine skin checks, mole and lesion assessments, and surgical removal of skin cancers. Our experienced doctors can perform minor surgical procedures, including excisions of suspicious or confirmed lesions, ensuring safe and effective treatment.

We focus on early detection and patient education, providing clear guidance on aftercare, monitoring for recurrence, and strategies to protect your skin. Our goal is to provide comprehensive, patient-centred care in a safe, comfortable environment, helping you maintain your skin health with confidence.

Transgender Care

Victor Medical Centre provides respectful, confidential care for transgender and gender-diverse patients. Our doctors can support you with hormone therapy, general health checks, mental health support, referrals to specialists, and guidance through social and medical gender-affirming care. We aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and supported. Ask for a doctor that provides these services.

Palliative Care Services

When appropriate, we can support our palliative care patients in the comfort of their own home, in collaboration with the palliative care nurses from the Southern Fleurieu Health Service. Please discuss this with your regular GP.

INR Clinics

Patients on Warfarin are able to book in to an INR clinic and receive the result of the test immediately. Patients are asked to contact reception to enquire when these clinics are held, usually two to three times per week.

Home Health Assessments

These assessments are performed by a nurse for eligible patients over the age of 75 years. A nurse will visit your home and carry this out in line with Medicare requirements to inform your doctor with a report that helps guide care and support you to remain in your own home.

Mental Health

Victor Medical Centre provides supportive mental health care, including assessments, mental health treatment plans, counselling referrals, and ongoing management of anxiety, depression, and other concerns. Our doctors offer compassionate, confidential support to help you navigate your mental wellbeing.

Travel Medicine

Victor Medical Centre offers personalised travel health services, including recommended vaccinations, infection prevention advice, and guidance for managing health while abroad. Our goal is to help you travel safely and confidently.

Abortion

We provide confidential and compassionate abortion care, including counselling, assessment and medical & surgical termination of pregnancy. Ear Suction

Victor Medical Centre provides gentle, precise ear suctioning for complex ear canal concerns, including wax impaction, infections, and conditions where standard ear cleaning is not suitable. Our doctors use safe, effective techniques to support your hearing and ear health.

Some vaccinations require a prior consultation with a specific GP, and a script which is usually not covered by Medicare.

Nursing Home Visits

Our doctors will provide ongoing comprehensive medical and palliative care for Victor Medical Centre patients who have moved into residential care facilities at:

  • Estia Health Encounter Bay
  • Resthaven Port Elliot

We also will accept patients who are new to the area and are now residing in these facilities, by request and with a Full Medical Summary from your previous clinic.

Telehealth

  • Connect with your GP on a video-call or phone appointment, if you have had a face-to-face consultation in the last 12 months
  • Book a video or phone telehealth appointment direct from the HotDoc app or by speaking to a receptionist
