Dr Christiane Merz
Christiane has more than 25 years of clinical experience as a Medical Doctor and a strong commitment to patient-centred, compassionate, holistic care. Originally from Germany, she completed her medical training at the University of Heidelberg and earned a PhD at the German Cancer Research Centre. Her diverse career includes positions in hospital medicine, cardiology, and occupational health. She is a Fellow of the RACGP as well as an examiner for the RACGP.
Her clinical interests include chronic disease management, cardiology, preventive health, musculoskeletal conditions, aged care, and palliative medicine—key areas of importance to the community she serves. Christiane maintains a close connection to rural South Australia. She provides care in remote Aboriginal communities, reflecting her commitment to delivering accessible and culturally respectful healthcare for all.
Christiane speaks German fluently and understands basic Italian and French. Her interests outside of medicine include hiking, kayaking, photography and the arts.
