Effective immediately, the special phone number for the nurse-led VMC results line is retired as it was no longer fit for purpose. Instead, diagnostics providers (such as Clinpath or Jones Radiology) are directly uploading results to the patient’s MyHealthRecord page in a matter of days. We encourage all patients to register for MyGov and MyHeathRecord to take advantage of this useful service.
When your doctor receives diagnostic results, they inspect each incoming result and take the following actions:
- Normal results will usually not be acknowledged and are available for review on MyHealthRecord.
- In the event that an abnormal result is detected, your doctor or a VMC team member will call or SMS you to advise you of the results and schedule an expedited follow-up appointment.
Practical advice to patients:
When your doctor orders diagnostic tests, we recommend that patients schedule a follow-up routine appointment with their regular doctor to review the results promptly and discuss any required treatment or further investigation. If results are normal and no follow-up discussion is required, the patient can then cancel the follow-up routine appointment.
